Twisted and Splintered But Not Broken

We went to check out Cedar Creek during mid-February at one of the canoe launches.  While we were there I aimlessly wandered through the woods for a bit and some things caught my eye – this twisted young tree was one of them.

Makes me think of how we can become twisted and splintered when under a lot of stress – but we don’t break.  Unfortunately, I don’t think that little tree will recover from its ordeal.
