These Tundra Swans spend their winters at Whitesbog Village in NJ.

These appear to be 2 adults and one juvenile (the gray one).

They were flying overhead, moving from one old bog to another just before the sun peaked over the horizon.

Tundra Swans Walking on Ice

Some friends came down to visit with one of their main goals being to see Tundra Swans.  It was about an hour before the sun sank below the horizon and we went huntin’ for them.  Most of the usual cranberry bogs they hang out in were frozen over with little/no open water.  When we finally found them it was mostly dark.  They were only illuminated by the headlights from my car.  Needless to say, the photos I took looked horrible.  So, I played around with them a bit and this is what I came up with…
