Fall Maple Colors

I love the colors of fall – all the reds, oranges and yellows!  This was a particularly warm day in early fall, the leaves on this maple are on their way to being deep red – you can see that color behind them a bit.

I applied a watercolor effect to this photo.

Fall Reds Reflection

It was an unseasonable warm (but welcomed) late September day and Doug and I were driving through the old bogs in Brendan T. Byrne State Forest (NJ).  The reds were really popping!  And the fading greens were glowing from the sun.

The original photo just didn’t do justice to the vibrant colors and the wonderful, happy vibe they gave off – so I got creative with this watercolor effect.

Autumn Splendor Mandala (#8)

This mandala reminds me of the last burst of warmth we get in fall before winter sets in.  The changing leaves are the last colorful show that nature gives us until the spring.  It is the finale for the year.

This was created from a picture I took during the end of October 2012 at Batsto Village in NJ.  The leaves on this maple just had fabulous color.  Red, orange and yellow leaves still attached to the tree as well as creating a mufti-colored carpet on the ground.

If you were to walk from the visitor’s center towards the lake, these would be the last maples on your right side just before you get to the path that turns right next to the lake.
