Birds of the Blizzard
It’s January 26, 2015 and we have the beginnings of a blizzard here in NJ.
The birds seem to know it too and they’ve been out in search of food often.
I couldn’t resist bundling up and heading outside to spend some time with them.
Just needed a few things first … 2 pairs of pants + ski pants, 2 shirts, 1 fleece, wool socks, heavy jacket, scarf, hat, gloves and snow boots.. that’s all 😉
I’m very fortunate that all these gals and guys were just outside my back door!
I could hear the wind moving through the trees as the fine snow blew through the air. Along with the birds chirping and ducks quacking.
Red Bellied Woodpecker
I don’t know what the two above birds are called – do you?
Male Cardinal
Female Mallard
That’s all so far.
We’re supposed to get many more inches of snow overnight.
I look forward to spending more time in the snow.
