4 Vain reasons to eat healthy - Beth Sawickie

Go Ahead – Be Vain and Eat Good!

4 Vain reasons to eat healthy - Beth SawickieWith the start of 2015 I decided to give a go at making some positive changes in my life.

One is to choose to eat healthy foods that are high in nutrients.

Yeah – it’s easy to say that.  Eat lots of veggies, eat from the rainbow – and oh – stay away from anything “white” – ya know, all that yummy stuff you CRAVE!

Cupcakes, cookies, pasta (with butter, garlic and some parm.), fresh rolls, ice cream !!!  Stay away from ICE CREAM!?!

So, my goal is to find healthy substitutes for all those yummy bad things.

And an added bonus is that as I eat healthier (lots more nutrient packed veggies, seeds, nuts, fruit), the cravings for all that bad junk diminish also – Really!

Tonight I made a Chia Pudding Parfait (recipe from DrFuhrman.com)

The benefits of choosing high nutrient food…

We all have heard the saying “you are what you eat”.  If you eat vibrant, live, healthy food then you’ll become the same.

If you flood your body with good nutrients in their natural form then it helps your body heal and get rid of all that junk that’s been building up inside.

The VAIN benefits of choosing high nutrient food…

Yes I want to feel good and stay healthy…but I also want…

  • weight loss (I want to get back to when I could pull off wearing a half-shirt and a bikini – I don’t give a crap that I’ll be 40 this year!)
  • clearer skin (I thought when I quit smoking 7+ years ago that my skin would clear up – um – no!  I replaced the cigarette to mouth habit with the carb and sugar laden food to mouth habit = bad skin).
  • less wrinkles (did you know that eating refined sugar contributes to more wrinkles ?)
  • healthy hair and nails

Are ya with me?  Would you like to have a healthy body on the inside that radiates vibrant health on the outside?

What is your FAVORITE oh-so-yummy (but oh-so-bad) food that you’d like to find a healthy, nutrient-packed substitute for?

Let me know in the comments below 🙂
