A Rainy Day at Black Run Preserve
Today Doug and I ventured to Black Run Preserve in Evesham, NJ. Neither of us had been there before so we decided to check it out.
We were surprised to find that there is a marked parking area. There are posted trail maps and the trails are well marked.
It was a warm but dreary day. Gray, raining on and off – but still a nice day for a walk in the woods.
Flowers – There’s still some around 🙂
I barely got out of the car and I was being drawn to photograph some of the many flowers growing along the path – I think they were Black Eyed Susan’s??
I was like a kid in a candy store – oh, look at that! and there’s another one over there! Yellow color over there, bright red there, orange spotted thingy there – wow!
Trees, leaves, ‘shrooms everywhere along with a few flowers here and there.
Moths – so cute and furry!
I’m usually pretty good at spotting the often overlooked little things in the forest. This time, Doug had the eagle eye. He spotted two of these awesome black, white and orange moths!
If you know the name of this moth, please let me know – until then, I’ll just call him Fred 🙂
Fred (the moth) inspired me to create this mandala:
“Moth Mandala” – buy Prints HERE.
Mushrooms – fabulous fungus!
Then there were the ‘shrooms! Lots of mushrooms along the trails to photograph. Let me tell you – I am so loving having a macro lens at times like these 🙂
I was on my knees, rear up in the air getting most of the ‘shroom shots. Even had my head resting on the ground for many of ’em. Oh – and did I mention that it was raining on and off? That meant everything was damp. I had leaves in my hair, dirt all over… it was a good day 😉
Many of ’em were as small as this little guy (some smaller!)

And these two little guys popping out from under the pine needles to say ‘hello’ 🙂
Then there was the poop mushroom…
Doesn’t it look like a pile o’ poop?
I had to get down and the ground and investigate…..
yep, it’s a ‘shroom!
Here are more of the ‘shrooms that I crawled around on the forest floor to photograph 🙂
Colorful Fall Leaves
And, of course, many beautiful scenes of fall foliage…

Here are some of the colorful leaves we saw today…
Some of the above photos will be made available as fine art prints HERE once I process them. And some will be transformed into Mandalas. If there is a particular one that you would like a print of, please let me know HERE.
So that was our visit to the Black Run Preserve. Definitely time well spent. It is a beautiful area that we will be visiting again – hopefully when there are blue skies.
